Mental Health Ambassadors

Our Program

The University Counseling Center Mental Health Ambassadors Program is an initiative designed to provide students with a practical training that provides the tools, resources, and skills necessary to support fellow GVSU Lakers through mental health distress or crisis.

Mental Health Ambassadors receive experiential training on a scope of topics related to mental well-being including common symptoms of mental distress, campus and community resources, skills for providing support and intervention, alcohol and other drug use, suicide prevention, and self-care.

For more information contact Mikaela Padgen at [email protected] or (616) 331-3266.
